Artepaliativo ↗ is an organization that accompanies people with advanced or terminal illnesses through the creative process with the aim of
improving their quality of life and encouraging emotional well-being. They are currently active in various centers and hospitals.
In March 2019, Artepaliativo initiated an agreement with Hospital de Santa Caterina (Salt, Girona) in order to realize
art and emotion workshops with terminally ill patients. Philarthropic was able to collaborate by providing materials and human resources.
RECIPIENTS | Individuals in the terminal phase of an illness, admitted to Hospital de Santa Caterina (Salt, Girona).
METHODOLOGY | Bi-weekly individual art and emotion workshops. Patients were offered a variety of materials and resources to work with, such as painting, music and photography (
Art Legacy ↗), with sessions adapted to the skills, interests and needs of each particular case.
OBJECTIVES | The sessions explored the role of art as a source of liberation, expression and transformation in a person’s final stage of life, aiming to provide emotional relief, well-being and relaxation.
